Painting contractors in Nevada are licensed by the Nevada State Contractors Board, commonly under the C-4 painting and decorating classification. A useful bid names the product line, sheen, number of coats, which surfaces are included, and what prep means: washing, scraping, caulking, patching and masking.
Ask for proof of liability insurance, whether the crew is employed or subcontracted, and who supervises on site each day. Ask too how they protect landscaping, pools and vehicles from overspray.
Nail pops, door dings and loose trim are easier to fix before painting starts. A local handyman can handle a list like that ahead of the painters, or ask whether the painting company includes minor repairs.

Square footage, wall height, number of colors, the condition of stucco or drywall, how much prep is needed, the paint product chosen and how many coats are applied. Exterior jobs with lots of trim, gates and block walls take longer. Ask each painter to list these items so you can compare like with like.
Interior rooms are usually out of use for a day or two each while walls are prepped, painted and dry. Exterior jobs mean ladders, masked windows and some noise from pressure washing. Ask the painter for a day-by-day plan, including which rooms or doors will be blocked.
Some associations require a request even for the same color, others only for changes. Read your rules or ask the management company. Having written approval protects you if a neighbor or the board questions the work later, and painters generally prefer to see it before starting.
Line them up item by item: product line, coats, surfaces included, prep steps and warranty. A lower number often reflects one coat instead of two, less prep, or excluded areas such as fascia and block walls. Ask each painter to explain the gap rather than assuming one is overcharging.
